Spend gems properly (or: How to enlarge my Core Might)

A little introduction

Hi everybody and welcome. First a little presentation. My nickname is Kangilesh, a F2P guy from Argentina, so i will be writing in both English and Spanish languages. I'm part of XiL and i will be launching this blog with the first more important thing: How to spend the gems you get, so you don't regret it later.

What the hell do i do with gems?

The first thing to know, is that gems are hard to get, so we don't want to use them in vain.

What do we do with gems? Magnify our Core Might, and nothing else. Avoid using gems for troops, troops die and you lose your investment, and you'll probably lose them with a shitty research. But Core Might never goes down.

So... What do i use them for? or: How to enlarge my Core Might

The very best for using gems early game and most of gameplay is investigating (blog for what to investigate is coming later). The core might is and should always be our higher might giver, because they rise all aspects of our game: troops stats, construction & training speed, resource production/gathering, vault, monster hunter (important for getting chests, that are really appreciate, and get materials, gems and speedups as a result of the hit) and turf's defence.

This can be done by buying speedups or paying directly with gems. This depends of your current progress/speedups already had, because it costs more a 1 day speedup (as an i.e) than paying 24hs with gems. You should buy speedups when you are close to your objetive and your free time given by your VIP Lv. VIP 11 has a 30 min free speedup.

Second important thing to do with gems is to get materials to get Prison, Altar, Battle Hall to Lv 25 and Treasure Trove to Lv 9. Besides of the obvious buffs and beneficies gained by these buildings, they're a requirement for Academy 25 (all but Treasure Trove, but it's also a must have because of his usage) required for the better investigations like T4s.

Buy speedups or use the gems instead?

When you're buying speedups, always go for the longest time, because better speedups have a better buy rate.

i.e: 24hs Speedup costs 1500 gems, and 3D Speedup costs 4400. That's a 100 gems save. also 10 3D Speedups costs 44k gems, and 30d Speedup costs 40k, so you're saving 4k gems. This applies to every speedup buy option. I used some of the biggest Speedups to get bigger numbers shown. But remember, Every gem counts.
